Humulo Workshop is a collaborative mixed reality platform. A VR presenter shares an interactive 3D model that anyone can explore — on desktop, tablet, phone, or inside a Teams meeting. No headset required for viewers.
The Problem
Your best people can’t be everywhere. Critical 3D knowledge is locked in experts who travel, while the rest of the team waits.
Senior engineers spend more time traveling than teaching. Field techs wait hours for guidance. New hires wait weeks.
Screen-sharing a CAD model gives viewers compressed, laggy 2D video. All depth, detail, and interactivity is lost.
Only people with headsets can join VR sessions. The design team on laptops? The field tech on a phone? Locked out.
VR tools don’t connect to Microsoft Teams, Active Directory, or enterprise licensing. IT pushes back. Adoption stalls.
Microsoft is ending Dynamics 365 Remote Assist and Guides in December 2026. Licenses are already unavailable. Teams using HoloLens for field support need a replacement that doesn’t lock them into discontinued hardware.
The Solution
One platform for training, design reviews, and field support. A VR presenter gets the full immersive experience. Everyone else gets an interactive 3D viewer right in their browser or Teams meeting — no installs, no headset.
Desktop, tablet, phone, Teams. Browser-only — zero installs for viewers.
Embeds as a meeting tab with SSO, two-way audio, and share to stage.
Tenant-scoped models, per-seat licensing, Active Directory integration.
See It in Action
The same interactive 3D model renders locally on every device. Full fidelity. Full interactivity. At 1/1000th the bandwidth of video streaming.
Hand tracking, spatial calibration, multi-user avatars, and labeled components in shared 3D space.
Touch to orbit, pinch to zoom, follow presenter. Same 3D model on iOS and Android browsers.
Drag and drop a GLB file, preview it in 3D, validate, and publish to your model library.
Browse uploaded models, preview in 3D, and initiate a Microsoft Teams session with one click.
How It Works
No setup. No installs. No IT tickets.
Open your model library and pick a 3D model. Training owners upload models through the self-service portal.
A unique 5-digit code appears. Share it in Teams chat, email, or Slack. Or launch directly from the model library.
Open the Workshop tab in Teams, or visit workshop.humulo.com on any device. Enter the code and you’re in — full 3D, two-way audio.
Use Cases
Not just training. Workshop is a real-time 3D collaboration layer for any scenario where teams need to look at the same equipment together.
An instructor in VR walks through a heat exchanger, pointing at components and explaining procedures. 30 trainees follow along on laptops in a Teams meeting — each with a fully interactive 3D model they can orbit and zoom.
An engineering team opens a CAD model during their weekly review. The lead highlights problem areas from VR while mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams inspect the model on their desktops.
A technician at a remote site joins a Teams call from whatever device they already carry — phone, tablet, or a hands-free device like RealWear. Nothing changes for them. At HQ, senior engineers load the equipment’s 3D model in Workshop, identify the failed component, annotate it in 3D, and talk the tech through the repair — with a level of visual detail a flat video feed can’t match.
Case Study
A live Workshop session where trainees identify every LOTO point on industrial equipment — guided by an instructor in VR while remote participants follow along on any screen.
In this live Workshop session, an instructor wearing a VR headset walks a trainee through every lockout/tagout point on a complex industrial machine. The trainee must identify each LOTO location, describe the correct lockout procedure, and demonstrate understanding of energy isolation — all on a realistic 3D model of the actual equipment.
Remote participants join from any device — desktop, tablet, phone, or a Microsoft Teams meeting tab. They see the same 3D model, follow the instructor’s viewpoint in real time, and can independently orbit, zoom, and inspect components on their own screen.
This replaces the traditional approach of physically walking trainees to the factory floor, shutting down production, and hoping everyone can see what the instructor is pointing at. With Workshop, the machine is always available, always safe to inspect, and every participant gets a front-row seat.
No need to shut down equipment or schedule floor access for every training session.
Your subject matter expert trains from anywhere — no flights, no hotel, no scheduling conflicts.
Flat diagrams can’t show spatial relationships. A 3D model lets trainees see exactly where each energy source and isolation point lives.
Machine-specific LOTO training mapped to control of hazardous energy standards — with documentation for audit readiness.
Every Screen
Full immersive experience. Hand tracking, spatial calibration, 6DOF interaction. Workshop runs on standalone XR headsets — your team uses what they already have.
Embeds in any Teams meeting with SSO and two-way audio via ACS bridge.
Open a link, enter a code. Full 3D with orbit, zoom, and follow-presenter.
Same 3D viewer on mobile. Touch to orbit, pinch to zoom. Zero installs.
